Foreign reports on September 28, the Joint Factories Committee (JPC) released data, Between April and August 2021, India's crude steel production fell 25.9% to 34.272 million tons from a year earlier, while the inished steel production, including alloys, stainless steel and non-alloys, fell 30.9% to 30.08 million tons from a year earlier.
Domestic consumption (including alloy, stainless steel and non-alloy steel) was 27.435 million tons in April-August, a 35.5% decrease from the same period in the previous fiscal year.
JPC data shows that during this period, Indian steel exports soared 94.8% to 5.68 million tons. Steel imports were 1.67 million tons, down 51.7% from the same period last year.
